- My Star NX-1001 printer died, local people were pessimistic about
- chances to fix it. Lyben Computer had them in their catalog and
- I ordered one. They sent, instead, a Star LC-1010C, which they
- say is completely compatible with my old one. So far, this seems
- to be true. Does anybody own one of these? Strange, I searched the
- manual, and there is absolutely no text about using color. I guess
- you are supposed to work it from a color program? They do give the
- ASCII code for color, but that's all. I would like to use it with
- "Illustrator II", Hugh Mcmenamin, the author, is working on a
- program to allow use of color with it. Does anybody have any
- other ideas as to how to use this in color? I was glad to see that
- my regular black NX-1001 ribbons fits and works well with it.
- I was able to set the printer to use mono ribbon. What more do
- I need to know?
- It appears that the NX-1001 is out of production and none are
- available. Too bad, it was a nice printer and did everything I
- needed.
